Mikhail Yuryev
Position: Chairman
Mr. Yuryev was the Deputy Speaker of the Duma for the Russian Federation from 1996-1999. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Cvetmetholding Ltd., an investment company specialized in mining projects in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States. During the last several years he held the position of the Chairman of the board of directors of the Joint Stock Company Eurofinance Group, an investment company with a diversified portfolio of projects from various industries. Before that Mr. Yuryev was the Chairman of the Board of the Investment and Industrial Group Eurasia, an investment company with projects in the construction, energy and finance sectors. In addition, Mr. Yuryev has about 10 years of experience dealing with Russian mining, oil and gas companies.
Igor A. Kovarsky
Position: President & CEO
Mr. Kovarsky has over 25 years of experience in the construction and mineral sectors in exploration, engineering, development and operations. Mr. Kovarsky’s experience includes work for Centerra Gold Inc. and its predecessor Cameco Gold. There Mr. Kovarsky served in various roles including Director and Vice President, Government Affairs & Business Development for Centerra’s subsidiaries in Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia and in its head office in Toronto. He also played a key role in the acquisition, feasibility work and successful development of the Kumtor gold mine in Kyrgyzstan and Boroo gold mine in Mongolia. Prior to joining Cameco and Centerra in Canada, Mr. Kovarsky worked for 12 years with major design and engineering organizations in former Soviet Union in the executive roles, including the Moscow regional government where he served as Chief of the Construction Department.
Cary Pinkowski
Position: Director
Cary Pinkowski has 15 years of experience in dealing with North American and European capital markets. During Mr. Pinkowski's distinguished career with Canaccord Capital Corporation, Canada's largest independent securities dealer, he specialized in Venture and Natural Resource Company Financings. He received numerous awards including achieving Chairmans Club every year since inception. Mr. Pinkowski is the founder of Entrée Gold Inc. He currently acts as an advisor to Entrée Gold Inc. on its business and corporate development.
Dr. Sergey Makarov
Position: Director
Dr. Sergey Makarov is the General Director and co-founder of the Closed Joint Stock Company NPO Gimein, a company that promotes geological projects in Russia. Dr. Makarov has more than 20 years of experience in environmental monitoring and environmental protection in different regions of Russia, including the Kola Peninsula. He also has wide experience as an entrepreneur developer of mining projects in Russia. He is a graduate of Moscow State University (1977) and holds a Ph.D in Geography (1986). Dr. Makarov’s experience includes being the head of the Research Division in the Central Institute (Research Center) of the Russian Federal Agency of Hydrometeorology and Environmental Protection.
Nick DeMare
Position: Chief Financial Officer
Mr. DeMare holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia and is a member in good standing of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia. Since May 1991, Mr. DeMare has been the President of Chase Management Ltd., a private company which provides a broad range of administrative, management and financial services to private and public companies engaged in mineral exploration and development, gold and silver production, oil and gas exploration and production and venture capital. Mr. DeMare indirectly owns 100% of Chase Management. Mr. DeMare currently serves as officer and director of other public reporting companies.
Grigory Aleksenko
Position: Director
Mr. Aleksenko is the managing partner and co-founder of AGA Management Ltd. AGA Management Ltd. is a leading, Moscow based consulting company specializing in Russian financial and M&A markets (see www.agamanagement.com) and played an instrumental role in the Acquisition as agent for the vendor. He has more than nine years of professional experience in M&A, strategic consulting and restructuring projects for international corporations with Bain & Company (Moscow-Johannesburg-Sydney), and two years as a manager with the investment banking division of Renaissance Capital. Mr. Aleksenko graduated from Moscow State University and has an MBA from the International School of Business, INSEAD.
Oleg Kim
Position: V.P. of Operations
Oleg Kim, is a Kyrgyz national with graduate and post graduate qualifications in geology from Russia and Uzbekistan and further qualifications in economics from McGill University in Canada. From 1985 to 1992, Oleg worked for a number of State Geology organizations in Kyrgyzstan and subsequently Kyrgyzaltyn and the Kyrgyz State Gold Mining holding company. From 1993, Oleg was involved with the development of the Kumtor Gold Deposit joint venture with Cameco and became chief exploration geologist at Kumtor in charge of the major continuing exploration program for this gold mine. He also was generally responsible for Cameco's Central Asian exploration program. Since 1992 he has developed his own business interests in gold exploration and production. In addition to his directorships of Andash Mining Company and Marsa Gold Company he is the General Director of the Bulakashu Mining Company in the Kyrgyz Republic.
